New year means changes! Next decade of the festival marks a new beggining. We’ve introduced a new festival director — Emilia Mazik. Szymon Stemplewski is staying with us as a programmer and author of special events!
Year 2019 of course meant festival’s 11th edition, that took place 19 — 24. march.
The main motto of this year’s festival – Outside the Box – refers particularly to the fokus program centered around short cinema of Southeast Asia. Three film sets were selected by our special guest programmer and Berlinale curator – John Bandalu. The fokus program encompasses 16 films from Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia and Vietnam.
New decade didn’t mean slowing down, proposing wide variety of different events: about 70 events in total, 300 films and 4 competition sections.
#swfontour — Our team has visited about 32 film festivals! Clermont Ferrand, Go Short, Kiev ISFF, VIS Vienna Shorts czy Concorto FF just to name a few.
