On this Monday afternoon we would be looking back at all the amazing short films that we just watched throughout the last week in Poznań. The state of affairs in the world surprised everyone and forced us all to reinvent our plans for the future. Looking back, we are confident that our decision to push back Short Waves Festival 2020 to August was responsible and necessary. 

We are very happy to finally announce the new dates for the first summer edition of Short Waves Festival. We invite you to join us in Poznań on August 18th-23rd for the 12. edition of Short Waves Festival with the theme: Fixing the Future. The situation in the world is changing day by day and we will respond to it as it develops in the weeks and months to come. We know one thing for sure: this is going to be an entirely different summer as the cultural agenda for Poznań has shifted entirely. It seems clear that Short Waves Festival will be once again the inaugural film festival in our City. We are still working on the program and the organization of the August edition. In the meantime, we will continue with our activities online – the only reasonable course of action. An example of this is our Short Waves on Tour series which will be premiered on the web. Make sure to follow our social media where we will keep you up-to-date about everything! Also check out My Darling Quarantine Short Film Festival – an initiative co-curated by us. It’s an online short film festival where you can vote for your favorite films and financially support the Doctors Without Borders organization and chosen cultural institutions impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
