THIS IS SHORT launches second round in April 2022
Short Waves Festival and three partner festivals will once again present outstanding short films on demand for three months from April 1. The online pass for 20 euros also allows access to the latest online offerings of the festivals and is available on thisisshort.com from March 21 onwards.
The successful European streaming project THIS IS SHORT is back! Starting on April 1, the portal hosted by four film festivals will enter its second round at www.thisisshort.com and will once again present remarkable short films and carefully selected programming for three months until June 30. The offer includes the online competition New Point Of View, the thematically structured series Four Perspectives as well as the new program line Festival Favorites.
As last year, the platform also allows access to online films and programs of the four participating festivals once they go live: Go Short from the Netherlands starts right on April 1 with their online program, the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen from Germany follows on April 30, VIENNA SHORTS from Austria is available online from May 25 and Short Waves from Poland from June 14. Most of the on-demand offerings are available without geographic restrictions.
Small changes & big vision
THIS IS SHORT was developed during the pandemic as a collaborative project of the European Short Film Network, which the four renowned festivals had formed a few years ago. It emerged from the profoundly European vision of transnational cooperation and aims to complement and comprehensively strengthen the analog film festivals with a shared digital platform.
The portal itself has been developed further compared to last year. For example, the availability of each short film has been extended, the program as a whole has been given a more focused design and the online pass has been slightly reduced in price. As of March 21, passes can be purchased for 20 euros for the public and 25 euros for film professionals. These include the entire THIS IS SHORT program as well as access to the online offerings of the four participating festivals.
