The October screenings of Urban View are not just a return to Summer Time, so we are expanding them with an additional showing: **URBAN VIEW EXTRA!** We will present a selection of Ukrainian films that focus on the voices of cities, their color and tone. These are short films whose creators listen to what the surroundings have to say and express these messages in cinematic form. The screening has been curated by Sasha Prokopenko, and the event will also feature introductions and discussions about the presented films.

Urban View Extra: Ukrainian Cities Talking
The scene is like a strange dream. You see familiar images that have been a part of your life – the paths you’ve always walked, the yard where you played as a child, and the rooftops where you had your first kiss. Yet, when you look closely, you notice unusual details that reflect the impact of war on your reality.
The directors of these five films capture the essence of cities, homes, and their own lives, conveying a mix of fleeting peace and underlying tension. They document voices and stories, their own and others’, and thread them together to create a vivid portrayal of the city, understanding that without people and their voices, cities would be devoid of life.
