International short film festival from Poznań, Poland.

Our mission

Short Waves Festival is much more than just film screenings.

For years, it’s been living up to its motto – “the most concise short film festival”, which we still aspire to. We are trying to create an event that eliminates superficial boundaries between art domains (film, visual art, design, architecture, music), initiates social dialogue and sets new trends in the field of event-cinema.

We present films that respond to world events, we take a stand on important causes.

We create the festival primarily with our audience in mind, while simultaneously supporting the film industry and educating young filmmakers. An important goal of the festival is also to remove access limitations: physical, economic or resulting from disability.

We intend to create a festival that is conscious, open, accessible and diverse. Since 2020 we have also been implementing the strategies designed to limit the festival’s environmental impact.
