The whole theatre should be a stage! Das Totale Tanz Theater makes the Bauhaus dream of „total theatre” a reality in this anniversary year, lets body and space blend together and brings Walter Gropius’ and Oskar Schlemmer’s stage experiment into the digital age using virtual reality. The question about the relationship between man and machine, which had already been asked by Bauhaus, and how it can be experienced interactively in the extensive virtual reality dance installation Das Totale Tanz Theater, now becomes a three-dimensional audio and visual experience: A dance video with choreography by Richard Siegal and music by the band Einstürzende Neubauten.

Polish Competition I
16:30 / CK Zamek / online

We are diverging from searching for the common denominator for all films and instead we simply aim to present the most interesting and fresh national productions. They touch upon many universal issues which may be encountered locally: psychological perspective on belonging to a group, the influence of #metoo movement on society, a study of modern technological reality or the troubling one associated with economic, climatic and identity issues.

Focus Lebanon: She leads against the Current
17:00 / Kino Muza / online

First, out of three, group of films in this year’s geographic focus. Lebanon has been known as the country of diversity. Throughout history, Lebanese people have found it hard to agree on one pact that will allow all this social, religious, economic and cultural multiplicity to live in harmony. If we would come to describe Lebanon, we would settle on it being the country of “opposites”. Now, trying to frame the Lebanese culture or define its identity would seem like an unreasonable task. For example; it is a very liberal society but conservative. We adapt Western ideologies but we are so attached to our Eastern traditions. We are so bowed to our past but we never learn from it and we keep on repeating the same mistakes that disturb our present. We have always lived in between and so is our identity, lost in between.

She Leads Against the Current is written and directed by female filmmakers and feature, mostly, a female character that leads the story. It reflects the common concerns and the collective rage of their rebellious makers.

Let’s make those late night hours a little more interesting! In this program we follow the dirty minds of filmmakers with some exquisite preferences. Spicing things up by adding a bit of strap-on, some handcuffs and a blindfold to the bed-time-mix. Not kinky enough? How about serving as someone’s dog, or fantasizing about boneless bed partners? There’s something for everyone here, it might even give you some new ideas.
